About Muhammad Hanif
Dr. Muhammad Hanif is an Assitant Professor at at the Business School, Department of Informatics at Örebro University in Örebro, Sweden, where he contributes to Centre for Empirical Research on Information Systems (CERIS) with a focus on Artificial Intelligence and its applications in areas like Information Security, Software Engineering, Elderly Care, and e-Health.
He earned his PhD from the department of Electrical, Computer Science and Software Engineering from Hanyang University, Seoul, South Korea, where his research focused on stream processing engines. Additionally, he holds an MSc in Software Engineerign from Hanyang University.
As a researcher, Dr. Hanif specializes in AI-driven software development, information security, elderly care, and e-health. His work explores improving software reliability with AI, enhancing predictive modeling, and application of AI real-world applications in elderly care and social isolation. He actively investigates the role of Large Language Models (LLMs), IoT in solving complex problems in collaboration with both Industry and Academia.
Dr. Hanif has conducted research with several companies, such as Ericsson, Volvo Trucks, Trafikverket, and Filloxa AB, and collaborated with numerous higher education institutions in Sweden, South Korea, Finland, China, and UK. He serves as a program committee member and reviewer for prestigious conferences and journals such as IEEE ICTC, ICACT, IC-NIDC, ICOIN, IJCNN, ICDS, Frontier Jouranl of Medicine, and PlosONE.
As an educator, he teaches courses in Introduction to Information Security, Webbsystem with .NET, SUP project development at undergraduate and graduate levels. He incorporates different Pedagogical Approaches like project-based learning, industry collaborations, and problem solving to prepare students for real-world challenges.
