About Ole Martin Laegreid
My research examines political attitudes, participation and performance, with particular attention to climate mitigation and energy transition. Key interests include distributional conflict, electoral behavior and democratic innovation.
Methodologically, I combine experimental and observational designs, analyzing data at individual and subnational levels in Scandinavia and in comparative international settings.
Ongoing research
Gas taxes and support for incumbents across countries and time
Road tolls and voting behavior in Sweden
Turbine visibility and voting behavior in Sweden
Turbine construction and voting behavior in Denmark
Oil crisis and voting behavior in Norway
These studies are part of the research project The Electoral Ramifications of Environmental Policy, which is funded by the Norwegian Research Council (2020-2026).
The project is led by the Norwegian Research Centre (NORCE) and involves partners at Örebro University, the University of Oslo, Aarhus University, and the University of California.
Teaching
I supervise theses in political science (SK003G, SK018A) and public planning (SK010A), and teach courses in research methodology (SK002G, SK003G, SK016A), community planning (SK008G), and public leadership (SK014A) at the BA and MA level.
