About Rajesh Vinayak Patil
Rajesh Patil joined Örebro University as a associate senior lecturer in mechanical engineering at the school of science and technology. He brings extensive experience in both academia and industry-oriented research, with core expertise in artificial intelligence, robotics & automation, advanced manufacturing, image processing, and automotive safety.
Rajesh earned Ph.D. in mechanical engineering, specializing in autonomous techniques for multi-class weld imperfection detection and classification. He also holds a Master’s in mechatronics engineering and Bachelor’s in mechanical engineering.
Before joining Örebro University,Rajesh led industry collaborative research projects, authored peer-reviewed publications, international book chapters, and holds patents. He has been instrumental in coordinating industry internships and career development programs, facilitating the placement of students and forging partnerships with leading multinational companies.
In addition to his research and teaching responsibilities, He actively contributes to research mentorship, international academic collaborations, and serves as a reviewer for reputed international journals.
Rajesh long-term vision is to contribute to the development of intelligent, connected, and sustainable manufacturing ecosystems, in alignment with Industry 5.0 and the goals of digital transformation.
