Stem cell transplanted teenagers and their way to adulthood

Development from teenager to adult can be hindered due to disease and treatment. Stem cell transplantation (SCT) treats certain forms of cancer such as leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma. Adolescents who undergo SCT need care that pay attention to and support normal development until adulthood, which requires knowledge among health care professionals, guardians and society. The aim of the study is to seek answers to young adults', age 18-25, recollection of experiences regarding the factors nutrition, activity and sexuality when cared for in connection with SCT when 13 -18 years of age  and their path to adulthood. Further, to examine concordance between the health care professionals documentation and the teenagers' recollection regarding nutrition, activity and sexuality during care.
