Oh, how exciting it was to receive the guests Dr. Rumi Hiraga and Dr. Keiichi Yasu from Tsukuba University of Technology, Japan! On Wednesday 15.2, the visit took place in Prismahuset. With the support of internationalization manager Dr. Dimitri Beeckman and program manager Dr. Susanne Köbler at the Audiologist program, the day could be realized. I myself, who have a background in music, understood that the very talented chamber choir from the Academy of Music, led by students and Florian Benfer, would brighten the opening of the meeting. What talented singers! The connection was that the guests have since long created creative solutions to enable musical experiences for people with hearing loss. The day offered both presentations of our programs as well as research presentations in speech, hearing and language. With this meeting, we have hopefully planted a seed for future collaboration on what support looks like for students with hearing loss in higher education in Sweden and Japan.
