Visual Communication, 7.5 Credits

In this course, we explore visual communication using theories and methods that provide tools for analyzing and understanding how various visual elements communicate in interaction with each other. We analyze a variety of media forms such as web pages, packaging, posters, and technologies, to explore how the visual and the material create meaning. We will investigate how communicative elements serve as resources to create ideas, attitudes, and values for different media audiences. During lectures and seminars, you will work with a set of analytical tools to analyze your own examples in relation to these concepts.
