Business Administration, Substainable Business, 7.5 Credits

What does it really mean to be sustainable in today’s society?
In this course, you will explore how ethics and sustainability intersect within businesses and organizations, and how these both influence - and are influenced by - the broader social and environmental contexts in which they operate.
Building on key concepts such as ethics and ethical blindness, corporate social and environmental responsibility (CSR), and social entrepreneurship, you will gain tools to analyse and understand complex sustainability challenges from multiple perspectives.
The course encourages a critical and reflective approach, from discovering and understanding the core ideas of the sustainability field, to questioning hidden assumptions and contradictions in prevailing narratives of sustainable business. In doing so, it opens up for new ways of thinking and acting that can contribute to more just and sustainable futures.
After completing the course, you will be able to critically assess and address ethical and sustainability-related challenges in contemporary organizations; and actively contribute to shaping the responsible businesses and societies of tomorrow.
