Informatics, Applied Information Security Management, 7.5 Credits

This course deals with how to manage information security in practice. Thus, we take an overall perspective on how to govern and guide information security from a manager’s perspective. The teaching is mainly case-based, which means that scenarios from real-world examples are used as a point of departure for the four major areas we will cover: i) organizational management systems and information security management systems and their relation; ii) how to analyze an implemented management system based on relevant ISO standards; iii) how to carry out an information asset classification; and iv) how to carry out a risk analysis. After completing the course, the students will be able to carry out relevant information security assessments.
