Music production and Songwriting I, 30 Credits

The course introduces students to fundamental music production through an integrated framework of audio technology, songwriting, composition, and entrepreneurship. Through work with songwriting, arranging, and instrumentation, music theory knowledge is applied in creative practice, while students develop the ability to analyze musical works using relevant literature and established terminology. The course also includes components in music analysis, notation practices, and academic writing, with a focus on interpretation and artistic expression in music production. Entrepreneurial perspectives and basic industry knowledge are integrated to provide an understanding of the music industry’s conditions and structures.

There is an entrance test for the course.
Submit three songs that you have written independently or in collaboration with others. Include a PDF with a brief description of your artistic expression as a songwriter and music producer. For each song, clearly state your own contribution and identify who performed the instrumental parts, recorded the music, and mixed the production.

Submit the songs as WAV or MP3 files, each no larger than 60 MB. MP3 files must have a bitrate of at least 192 kbps, preferably 320 kbps.
Your work samples will be assessed on musical craftsmanship, creativity, production skills, and your ability to communicate a personal artistic expression.
