The aim of the course is to develop your experience of outdoor education and recreation. The course will primarily take place in different outdoor environments. Focus is on the important role of the outdoors as a place for learning and outdoor activities as a way of improving wellbeing, personal growth and enhancing the quality of life. The course will deal with concepts such as knowledge, challenge, adventure, as well as outdoor education and recreation as a method or a value (a goal in itself). The course includes winter activities in a mountain area in Sweden, outdoor cooking, outdoor techniques, repelling and horseback riding. The students will also plan, arrange and evaluate an outdoor activity for a group of school children.

Note: No previous experience of outdoor activities is required.
