World Music I, 7.5 Credits

In this course, we get acquainted with the concept of world music and turn it into practical music making.
You get to play and sing in genres from different music traditions around the world, but also be involved in creating new music based on encounters that take place between the different music traditions that are represented during the course. You also participate and contribute to the course repertoire by teaching some music of your choice. The course ends with a concert where we perform the course repertoire in arrangements that we have worked out together.
There is an entrance test for the course. In the entrance test you should submit a video with a program of 3-5 minutes of music of any genre that best shows your artistic and technical skills as a musician on your main instrument.
