Application Process for Prospective Students

Here you can find out more on how to apply for one of our Master's students at Örebro University. Students apply to Örebro University online through the national website universityadmissions.se.

The application period for programmes commencing in August 2025 will open mid-October 2024.

There are a lot of important apects to consider so read through the information carefully. We recommend students to start the application process as early as possible to have enough time to colleact all necessary documents. All Master's programmes at Örebro University commence in the autumn semester each year. 

Step-by-step application guide

The most important step in the admissions process is to figure out which programme you want to study. Örebro University offers 10 Master's programmes with English languge as the language of instruction. 

For information regarding whether a programme is right for you, eligibility or the content of the programs it is best to contact the study advisor of the programme directly. The contact information are found under the 'Contact' section on the specific programme page.

The general entry requirements apply to all our Master's programmes. 

General entry requirements for Master's programmes

In addition, knowledge of English corresponding to the course "English 6" or course "English B" from the Swedish Upper Secondary School is required for all our Master's programmes.

All applicants can meet the requirement with the required score on an internationally recognised English test. Upper secondary and university studies in some countries can also meet the requirement.

All applications to Swedish universities are made through the official website for application to higher education studies in Sweden: universityadmissions.se.

Create your account for access to the application services

Select the programmes that interest you and rank your selection.

Ranking your selections is really important as you'll first be considered for the programme you've ranked the highest and you only will be offered one study place. To be eligible to apply for a scholarship programme you must have Örebro University ranked as first priority.

Provide University Admissions with your documents. There might be special requirements for documents from your country.

Note: For applications to Örebro University, no CV, letters of recommendation or letter of motivation are required and they will not be considered. Örebro University cannot evaluate the eligibility before a complete application is submitted.

If you are a citizens of countries outside the European Union (EU), European Economic Area (EEA) or Switzerland, are required to pay an application fee and tuition fee for studies in Sweden. Currently the application fee is SEK 900. 

Your application will not be processed until the application fee has been paid. Therefore, we encourage you to pay as soon as possible. Payments received after the deadline will result in your application status being changed to late resulting in you being ineligible to apply for our Örebro University scholarship.

Örebro University Scholarship

Fee-paying, admitted students having Örebro University as first priority are eligible to apply to our Scholarship Programme.
