About Asgeir Tryggvason
Ásgeir Tryggvason is a lecturer and PhD in education at Örebro University.
In his research he explores the role of emotions/passions, identities and conflicts in citizenship education. His is interested in questions about “the political” in education and has written about agonism and populism as educational approaches to the "the political". Currently he has been writing about the role of political emotions in environmental and sustainability education.
He is a member of the research group ESERGO and is a member of the Editorial Board of the journal Utbildning & Demokrati [Education & Democracy]. He is also active in the international research group Public Pedagogy and Sustainability Challenges.
Since 2011 he has been teaching at the teacher education program, mainly on courses about curriculum theory and didactics (Didaktik).
