About Asgeir Tryggvason
Ásgeir Tryggvason is associate professor in Education at Örebro University and is the coordinator for the reserach environment ESERGO.
His reserach focuses on environmental and sustainability education (ESE), with special interest in the role of emotions/passions, identities and conflicts in classrooms. His theoretical focus is on agonism in education. Currently he is working within the reserach project Environmental and Sustainability Education Meets the Reality of Schooling.
He also conducts reserach in the DecoPrax project which aims to empirically investigate the possibilities and challenges of incorporating a decolonial praxis in the teaching of global justice issues.
During 2015-2020 he was a member of the Editorial Board of the journal Utbildning & Demokrati [Education & Democracy].
Since 2011 he has been teaching at the teacher education program, mainly on courses about curriculum theory and didactics (Didaktik). He also teaches an ESE course for gratuate students.
