About Fredric Södergren Seilitz
Fredric joined the MTM Research Centre as a doctoral student in 2022. He completed his bachelor’s studies in analytical chemistry at Linköping University in 2018 and obtained a master’s degree in environmental science from Stockholm University in 2022.
Research
Fredric’s research focuses on the use of gas and liquid chromatography coupled to high-resolution mass spectrometry to broadly characterize complex chemical mixtures in materials and environmental samples. A central part of his work is the integration of chemical screening with effect-based analysis to investigate links between chemical occurrence and biological activity and to support the identification and prioritization of potential contaminants of concern.
His doctoral research is conducted within the European Partnership for the Assessment of Risks from Chemicals (PARC), where he contributes to the development of early-warning system tools and environmental monitoring approaches for hazardous chemicals. This work aims to improve the information available for chemical risk assessment, environmental monitoring and regulatory decision-making.
His research includes:
