About Helen Andersson
Helen Andersson has a PhD in Scandinavian Languages from Uppsala University and has worked as a senior lecturer in Media and Communication Studies since 2004. She is currently the program manager for one of the department's undergraduate programs, Media, Communication and PR.
Helen's teaching has a linguistic perspective. She mainly teaches courses that include text analysis and language use, rhetoric and semiotics, and oral and written presentation.
Her research interests are found mainly in the field of multimodal (critical) discourse analysis. The focus is on commercial representations of food and health, nature and nationalism, masculinity and cooking. Current research includes design of food and health apps.
