About Ingrid Witte
Ingrid Witte holds a degree in social work and, since 2024, a PhD in disability research.
Since September 2025, she has been a Senior Lecturer in Social Work with a specialization in Social Law at the School of Behavioural, Social and Legal Sciences. She also teaches in the Occupational Therapy Programme and the Audiology Programme.
Research
Ingrid Witte’s current research interests primarily concern how people with disabilities gain access to and maintain participation in working life.
Her doctoral dissertation focused on the vocational rehabilitation intervention Supported Employment, where she examined, from a gender perspective, access to, design of, and factors influencing the outcomes of the intervention.
At present, Ingrid Witte is involved in two research projects. One is an evaluation, funded by the Activa Foundation, of how the evidence-based Supported Employment model Individual Placement and Support can be implemented in psychiatric care in Sweden. The other is a project funded by Forte, investigating vocational rehabilitation and return-to-work interventions for people with hearing impairments and work-related mental health issues.
Teaching
During the autumn semester of 2025, Ingrid Witte’s teaching is primarily within the Occupational Therapy Programme and the Audiology Programme, where she is seconded to teach Health Sociology, Social Policy, and Law.
