About Malin Hagström
Malin Hagström is a Senior Lecturer in Mathematics and was named an Excellent Teacher at Örebro University in 2016. She has worked at the university since 2001 and, since 2017, has worked centrally with teacher education in several different roles and development projects. This is largely because she considers teacher education to be one of the most important forms of education there is. Malin is currently Head of Unit at the Mathematics Unit.
Malin has conducted her doctoral studies on a part-time basis, focusing on how the school-based component of teacher education created opportunities for student teachers to develop as mathematics teachers. She conducted comparative studies of Finland and Sweden, with particular interest in the feedback provided by mentors to student teachers.
Malin is a course coordinator and teaches mathematics and mathematics education, primarily within the two specialisations of the Primary Teacher Education Programme F–3 and 4–6.
