Health Psychology research meeting
Neither pain nor sleep problems happen in isolation. Health problems tend to co-occur and develop over time. That is why applying lenses from different health psychology domains are important to better grasp phenomena we study.
With this in mind, on September 21st 2026, CHAMP researchers on pain, sleep, and related questions gathered for the first Health Psychology research meeting of this academic year. We exchanged our visions of what each of us looks forward to during this year. Then, Nadya Golovchanova and Sofia Bergbom presented their work from ongoing IDA-Work project on mental health and work ability during the lifespan. They showed preliminary findings on pain trajectories over the life span and from life story interviews on experience of work ability and disability during different life stages.
This was followed by a fruitful discussion on female health across the life span, intricacies of handling longitudinal data, and the potential of life story interviews.
