Research subject

Earlier studies and mappings that have studied participation for students with hearing loss in inclusive schooling generally do not give a collected picture of how assistive listening devices (ALD's) work technically and pedagogically and if they are used properly. Therefore the National Agency for Special Needs Education and Schools is performing a study (Swedish project name: HODA) with the ambition of shedding light on questions concerning function and use of ALD's.

The results will be used in order to provide a safe platform for advisory measures from school authorities and the medical care system to staff in schools. The results will also be used to provide adequate measures when choosing ALD's for students. HODA also consists of a literature review deleted from the projects overall questions. The review has an integrated approach, scientific studies, reports and/or studies from authorities are examined.

A final report of HODA is available in english at the homepage of Specialpedagogiska skolmyndigheten.
