Research subject

Norms export is a tool frequently used by the EU in its relations with the countries in its neighbourhood and beyond. Norms export generally takes place via the conclusion of international agreements with third countries but also through the accession process. Whereas usually perceived as a linear process – from the EU to third countries – this project seeks to explore the circular effect of the EU’s activities as an exporter of its acquis by identifying and categorising the influence that third countries exert on the EU’s policy and law-making.
