The project aims to study different aspects of the effects of globalization on the labor market. It consists of three subprojects. The first deals with how the increased international fragmentation of products affects the Swedish labor market. Which parts of the global value chains are localized to Sweden? Which types of jobs and tasks are carried out in Sweden and which are delocalized to other countries? The second subproject attempts to quantify the costs of individuals displaced by structural changes owing to the growing internationalization. The third project focuses on how geographical mobility, by migrating or commuting, may contribute to reduce the costs for individuals arising from involuntary displacements related to structural changes and economic crises.
