The Lifestyle and Cardiovascular Research group comprises researchers and clinical cardiologists from both Örebro University and Örebro University Hospital. There are significant challenges in understanding the causes and consequences of cardiovascular disease. As the cardiovascular burden is substantial, it is of importance to identify potentially modifiable risk factors, not only for prevention of disease onset, but also for prevention of poor prognosis and outcome. Our research involves a lifestyle approach to disease risk where we seek to identify targets for risk reduction with a focus on lifestyle related exposures. Ongoing studies focus on risk markers, epidemiology and randomized interventions. Our national collaborative network includes researchers at Lund University and Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg.
