Abstract
After brief introduction to the theory of parity-time symmetric systems I will discuss non-linear modes in dissipative and parity-time symmetric parabolic and double-well potentials. The main topic of this talk, however, will be the existence of continuous families of nonlinear modes of a nonlinear Schrödinger equation with complex asymmetric potentials of the form w^2(x)-iw_x(x), where w_x(x) is a real function. It will be shown that the families can bifurcate from the linear spectrum. Examples of an asymmetric single-well and double-hump complex potentials will be presented.
