Abstract
This is an introductory talk on topological graph theory. I will focus on the following two questions:
- How graphs can be embedded in different topological surfaces?
- How to determine the genus distributions of graphs?
I shall present some basic definitions and results about the first question, and three principle approaches to the second question.
