Abstract
Optimization based on linear programming and network models is very appliable for real world problems. Projects in cooperation with the society regarding logistics and benchmarking will be presented. Required model extensions, such as, handling of conflicting objectives, integers, multi commodity, risk and uncertinaty will be highlighted. A simulation application managing 112 calls at SOS alarm is also presented and how this simulation can be combined with forecasting and meta heuristic optimization. A short introduction about linear programming, network models, discrete event simulation and data envelopment analysis is included.
