Economics, Globalisation, Second Cycle, 7.5 Credits

The course deals with resource allocation in open economies. Some of the topics are: determinants of international trade and specialisation, effects of globalisation on prices, industrial structure and income distribution, and relationships between internationalisation and economic growth. Other issues are: impacts of trade policy and industrial policy in open economies and international factor movements in terms of foreign direct investments and migration. An important element in the course is to give the students opportunities to apply analytical methods on current issues related to the ongoing globalisation.

Assessment:Written examination, active participation in seminars and compulsory assignments.
