Economics, Public Economics, Second Cycle, 7.5 Credits

The course deals with various issues in public economics such as, public goods, externalities, commodity and income taxation, with a focus on efficiency and to some extent also distribution. The course also covers political economy and models for voting in democratic elections and rent-seeking. Students conduct a deeper analysis on a topic in public economics by writing and presenting an individual report.

When is the course offered?

Prerequisites: First-cycle courses of 75 credits in Economics including an independent project of 15 credits. In addition, successful completion of the course "English 6/English B" from the Swedish Upper Secondary School or equivalent is required.
