Prokaryotic Cell Biology, 7.5 Credits

The course provides basic knowledge of the structure, physiology and function of prokaryotic cells and how their growth is controlled. The extensive diversity of Bacteria and Archaea domains are presented. The course introduces general aspects of pathogens, pathogenesis and epidemiology. In addition, basics of safe laboratory practice working with bacteria are introduced.
