The Transport of Pollutants in Soil, Water and Air, Second Cycle, 15 Credits

Knowledge on the transport and fate of chemicals in the environment is an essential part of risk assessment of environmental pollutants. This course emphasizes on the influence of chemical properties on the environmental fate of organic and inorganic compounds, as well as the effects of external physical conditions such as climate, types of sources and chemical processes in the different environmental compartments. Fundamental knowledge from biogeochemistry, hydrology, atmospheric chemistry and transport modelling will be introduced in order to assist in gaining knowledge on how to solve environmental chemistry problems.
