Infection Microbiology, 7.5 Credits

The course focuses on the biology of infectious microorganisms, including bacteria, viruses, fungi and protozoans, and how they cause disease. Environmental factors that contribute to the emergence and spread of infectious diseases are addressed. Laboratory classes will address current diagnostic methods and treatment strategies, as well as their limitations.
