The purpose of the course is to equip students with basic knowledge and skills in software architecture and its role in the development and maintenance of software systems.
The course covers different definitions of software architecture and begins with a description of its role and relevance at different stages of a development project. A discussion of the relationship among architecture, system requirements, and system implementation follows. The course continues with quality attributes of software architecture, different architectural styles, and architectural tactics, and concludes with general design principles and how to document and evaluate software architecture.
