The Rhetoric of Law: The Theory and Practice of Legal Argumentation, 7.5 Credits
This course offers an introduction to the rhetorical foundations of legal argumentation. Combining theoretical insights with practical exercises, students will explore how persuasive legal communication is constructed, analyzed, and performed. Throughout the course, students will study both classical and modern rhetorical theory as adapted to legal contexts, while also developing their own skills through exercises in argumentation and courtroom communication. The course is intended for law students at an early stage of their studies and welcomes both domestic and international participants. No prior knowledge of rhetoric is required.
