Academic Celebration
Örebro University’s Academic Celebration is held annually in February. The ceremony includes the conferment of doctoral degrees, the inauguration of professors, and the awarding of various prizes. In 2024, the ceremony took place on 16–17 February.

New professors
Here is a presentation of our new professors. Their professorial inauguration was scheduled to take place during the university’s Academic Celebrations 2025. As the celebrations were cancelled, the inauguration has been postponed.

Honorary doctorates
The award of an honorary doctorate is an expression of the university’s appreciation of notable achievement within any of the university’s academic fields.

Excellent Teaching Award
The Örebro Student Union presents the Excellent Teaching Awards annually to two university teachers at Örebro University.

There were many reasons to celebrate – not least the university’s 25-year jubilee. New professors, new doctors, honorary doctors and award winners took to the stage – accompanied by music and speeches. Here are the celebrations in pictures.
