Announcements

About announcements

Announcements are primarily intended for short messages to students. 

An announcement is displayed in Ultra as a pop-up window the first time the user logs into the course after the announcement is published. Thereafter, the announcement is listed under the heading Announcements to the left of the course. New announcements are also displayed in the Activity stream.

Create an announcement

  • On the Course Content page, click the link Announcements
  • On the page that opens, click the plus sign in the upper right. (the step is skipped if there are no previous announcement in the course).
  • Enter a title and enter your message.
  • Recipients of the announcement will always be all members of the course (teacher and participant).
  • To limit the visibility of the announcement, select the Schedule announcement box and enter the date and time.
  • Click the Save button.
  • If you have not scheduled the annoumcenment want it to be visible immediately, click the Publish Now button. NOTE! You can not publish an announcement if the course is set to Private.

Edit/delete announcements

  • On the Course Content page, click the link Announcements
  • Click on the three dots on right-hand side of the entry line, choose Edit or Delete

  • When finished editing, click the Save button. The announcement is published directly.
  • When deleting, a dialog box appears to confirm deletion, click the Delete button.
