AI at ORU

Örebro University's overarching objective is to use artificial intelligence in ways that enhance the quality, relevance and sustainability of its activities over the long term. Digital systems incorporating AI will contribute to the development of education and research, as well as to efficient and appropriate support processes. This requires a high level of expertise among individual staff members as well as across the university as a whole, which must be developed gradually.

The university shall also contribute to the development of knowledge, methods, and technical solutions in AI through research, education, and collaboration, including skills development related to AI in society. In this way, the university contributes to the responsible and knowledge-based use of AI throughout society. The university has a particular responsibility to prepare students for working life and for participation in a society in which AI is an integral part. This entails actively ensuring the relevance of its study programmes, while all programmes must progressively develop students’ ability to understand, assess and use AI responsibly and critically.
