These facilities are available to exchange students and guest researchers.

Welcome to Forskaren, Åstadalsvägen 1 H. Forskaren is located on campus and has three different flat sizes.

  • 31 small flats (23 m2) with one room, a kitchenette, a bathroom, and one standard bed.
  • 21 medium flats (31 m2) with two rooms, a kitchenette, a bathroom, and two standard beds in the same room.
  • 4 large flats (39 m2) with three rooms, a kitchenette, a bathroom, and two standard beds in one room and one standard bed in a second room.

All flats share the same kitchenette and bathroom.

  • The kitchenette has a fridge and freezer, an oven and cooking elements, a countertop with a sink and various kitchen appliances.
  • The bathroom has a toilet, basin, shower, and a cabinet.

Kitchen appliances and furniture are the same in all flats. The larger flats are designed for more than one occupant with several beds, more seating and cooking equipment.

The rent includes water, heating, access to laundry, electricity, and Internet/wi-fi.

General information

The Forskaren building was finished in autumn 2016. It has 56 flats in 3 different room configurations, each with a bathroom and kitchenette.

Inventory list

  • Bed(s) with mattress, quilt, pillow, mattress cover
  • Bed-side table, armchair(s), kitchen table with chairs, and several lamps
  • Curtains, picture/print, rug, and shower curtain
  • Selection of kitchen utensils, microwave oven, and a kettle
  • Vacuum cleaner, broom/dustpan set, bucket/mop set, and a toilet brush

Remember that you must your own bring bedclothes, towels, toilet paper, cleaning detergent etc.

The Housing Office can provide a set of sheets, towel(s) and one toilet paper roll for a small fee added to your first invoice. You may pick them up when you receive your keys.

  • You, the resident, and your contact at school must sign the lease. Hand in the signed lease to the Housing Office, and keep a copy for yourself.
  • The lease term is a minimum of one month and a maximum of one year. Unless you rent a weekly apartment
  • The lease begins either on the 1st or the 16th of a month. The apartment will be available from 15:00 hours at the earliest.
  •  The lease ends either on the last day of the month or on the 15th. The apartment should be vacated by 12:00 at the latest.
  • These options are available for return of the room key.

    2. Drop the keys in key deposit located outside on the right side of the entrance of Entréhuset.
    3. If you can't make it with these two alternatives, a friend can hand in the keys for you. Remember you are responsible for the keys until housing Office has received them.

  • Remember that if you arrive during the weekend or on a public holiday, you cannot move in until the next working day.
  • The term of notice is one month. 
  • According to the instructions, the visiting scholar is responsible for cleaning the apartment on the day of departure. However, it is possible to pay for that service in advance.

Weekly apartment is only intended for guestresearchers.

Weekly rental means:

• Your bed has clean bed linens. And there are clean towels and toilet paper in the bathroom.

• Cleaning products for the kitchen are included.

• You take your rubbish to the recycling area.

• For hygienic reasons and to maintain an acceptable living environment, we expect you to keep the flat and common areas clean during your stay.

Final cleaning is included – you don’t need to clean the flat upon departure.

• Leave nothing in the fridge or freezer upon departure.

Always show consideration. Everything is more pleasant if we talk to each other!

Many disturbances arise because people don’t realise that noise can be heard from their flats.

You can solve most problems by talking with your neighbour and meeting halfway.

Tip! Inform your neighbours if you’re planning a party. If they know about it in advance, they will usually overlook laughter and music a little louder than usual. Who knows, maybe it’ll be your neighbour’s turn to have a party next time?

Please remember you’re responsible for how your guests behave inside the building.

What is unacceptable disturbance?

All tenants must follow our general rules to ensure everyone in a building is happy. The rules include examples of activities that could cause a disturbance and should be avoided. If any such problem should occur near your flat, you can get help solving it in the best way possible.

What to do if something nearby is causing a disturbance:

If you want to report a disturbance, see below: Urgent matters and disturbances outside office hours.

The security company will then call you shortly afterwards and, together with you, decide if a personal visit is necessary or if some other measures might be sufficient enough.

The security company will request your name and address to contact you if they need additional information. Furthermore, they will try to call you later to let you know how they handled the situation.

Note: Örebro University’s Housing Office will be notified of every report and call-out.

What happens to those causing a disturbance?

Different kinds of disturbances are handled in different ways. For example, if the disturbance is still occurring when the security company arrives, the person disturbing will typically have to pay for the call-out cost. The Housing Office will then inform them by letter what has occurred.

This letter will also demand an improvement in future behaviour; sometimes, the security company will also make a follow-up visit.

If a tenant grossly or repeatedly violates the rules below, the landlord has the right to terminate their tenancy agreement according to Sections 42 and 46 of the Swedish Housing Act to protect other tenants from disturbances.

Always show consideration towards other tenants, especially between 10 PM and 7 AM when most people want to sleep.

  • Avoid playing loud music or having your radio/television at a high volume.
  • Avoid loud discussions and shouting – it may be heard easier than you think.
  • Remember not to work or engage in other activities in your flat that might disturb other tenants. Like playing musical instruments, doing your laundry at late hours, or taking a shower in the middle of the night.
  • Applies only to Studentgatan/” Brick Lane”.
    Keep your pet on a lead within the residential area. Remember, there might be tenants who are afraid of dogs and cats.
  • Never feed birds from your balcony or your windows. Birds are nice, but they very easily create a mess. 
    A translation of Section 25 of the Swedish Housing Act states that “When the tenant uses the flat, they shall ensure that those living in the surrounding area are not exposed to disturbance of such a nature that it could be harmful to health or otherwise impair the domestic environment to the point that it (the disturbance) should not reasonably be tolerated. In addition, the tenant shall, during the time they are using the flat, always behave in a manner required to maintain health, order, and the good condition of the property in question.”

General provisions and code of conduct for rental student accommodation

1. The tenant must never have pets of any kind within the flat or common areas. 
Note: pets are allowed only on Studentgatan/“Brick Lane”.

2. The tenant shall comply with the regulations concerning shared cleaning responsibility for common areas. The landlord takes care of cleaning entrances, corridors, and stairs.

3. The tenant shall ensure the front door of the building is closed as well as doors to the corridors. Do not prop up the doors with objects to prevent them from closing. Make sure windows are closed. Do not let people in who do not live in the building. It is important that unauthorised persons cannot enter the building.

4. The tenant knows there is a smoking ban within the flat and in common areas indoors. This also applies to balconies.

5. The tenant shall not play loud music or otherwise disturb other tenants and/or surrounding housing.

6. Responsibility also applies to outdoor activities within the property.

7. The tenant has an obligation to the landlord to pay for any costs that may incur following emergency calls and the like if costs arise as a result of the tenant or a person for whom the tenant is responsible disturbing the surroundings or otherwise failing to observe everything required for the preservation of order and good condition of the property.

8. The tenant shall not place objects in corridors, stairwells, or other common areas.

9. The tenant may not put up signs, awnings, balcony protectors, satellite dishes or outdoor antennas on the property without the landlord’s permission.

10. The tenant understands that when they use the property, they must make all efforts required to maintain its order and condition. The tenant undertakes to take good care of the property and all equipment and, without delay, notify the landlord of any damage or defect requiring immediate repair in order not to cause or worsen any damage.

11. Upon relocation, the tenant shall leave the dwelling, the associated common areas, and the storage room well-cleaned and freed from all personal belongings.

12. The tenant undertakes to compensate for any damage caused by the tenant to the dwelling and furnishings and to compensate costs for cleaning unoccupied housing and furnishings. And, if necessary, to replace any inventory.

13. The tenant undertakes to return at the end of the rental period all receipted keys belonging to the dwelling and shared spaces.

Keep in mind that staff at the Housing Office can only notify the internet provider if you do not get any contact/access at all and if the outlet in the wall is broken.

  • You are responsible for connecting all equipment correctly and making sure you have the right setting on your computer.

Örebro University has signed a collective service agreement with BAHNHOF.

This means that all residents will have access to the 100/100 Mbit/s internet service included in the rent. All rooms have their own router that belongs to the room.

What does the support desk want to know when you contact them?

  1. Note! When calling the support desk, please make sure to tell them that the service is part of a collective agreement for Örebro University.

  2. Your street address and site number/4-digit flat number (which you can find on your tenancy agreement).

  3. The MAC address on the router (there is a sticker on the router with the MAC address, it is like a social security number for the router itself).

  4. The flat number will enable the person on the support desk to identify your location and assist you with your query.

When calling support you first need to make som choices
The button choices are different depending on what you need help with.
These are the button choices:
Start by pressing 9 to get help in English.
Press 1 to identify yourself as a private customer.
Press 3 for technical support
Press 9 to get to collective agreement support.

Press 1 for help with broadband or telephony / press 2 for help with TV or streaming / press 3 for other services. Here the voice asks you to enter a social security number for faster help, this is not a requirement, so just press # to continue. After that, some information follows in Swedish, but there are no more button selections that need to be made. The important thing is that you have your address, the apartment number and the name of the association/landlord or, in your case, the university.

It may take up to 15 minutes to activate the service.

  • In most cases, the residents do not have to do anything, apart from making sure cables are connected properly.
  • But in some cases it may be necessary to restart the router. Note! It is not the media box that may need restarting, only the router (if this is connected).
  • A restart of the router can take 3-5 minutes.
  • And finally, if the residents still have problems with the internet in their accommodation, they can contact customer services/the Bahnhof support number: +46 (0)10-510 00 00 and they will help to activate the service.
  • Note! The router and associated equipment should stay in the room upon your departure. If anything is missing you will be held liable.

Adapter
The electric current in Sweden is 230 volts. An adapter may be necessary if you bring electrical equipment from countries with a different electric current.

Important:
Forskaren’s hydronic heating system is integrated into the floor and ceiling.

Drilling holes in the ceiling or floor is strictly forbidden.

Personal storage space

Almost all flats include a storage space outside your flat door.
Those not having outside storage space are 201, 202, 301, 302, 401, 402, 501 and 502.


We lock all unused storage space on the access balcony for security reasons. If you want to use the storage space, please contact Housing at This is an email address and we will remove our padlock so you can use your own padlock. When you move out, remember to remove your padlock.

Indoor temperature

  • Temperature indoors should be around 21 degrees Celsius (+/- 0.5).
  • The air’s a bit more humid in autumn, so you might feel colder indoors. Consider buying a thermometer.
  • A thermometer should be at least one meter above the floor in the middle of the room. It shouldn’t be placed near a window, wall, or floor.
  • If you suspect it’s cold or too warm, note the temperature and time over a few days. If it’s lower than 20 degrees, contact the Housing Office, and we’ll report it to the landlord.
  • A thermometer can be purchased at most grocery stores.
     

Emergency staircase

• If you must use the emergency staircase to leave the building, always close the door behind you to prevent unauthorised persons from entering the building. This is for all residents’ safety.

 

Lost keys or tag/tag is not working

  • If you lose one or more keys, the property owner will charge you the cost to get new ones. It can cost you up to 2,000 SEK.
  • Changing a broken tag for a new one is free. If you have lost your tag they will charge a small amount.

  • During evenings, nights and weekends you can report urgent matters (lost key, fire alarm, no electricity etc) or serious cases of disturbance by calling: ÖBO’s on-call Security Officers (Trygghetsjour) telephone number +46 19-10 10 00.
  • Always carry this emergency number with you. You may have to show your tenancy agreement, so we recommend you to save a screen shot/photo of the agreement on your mobile phone.

  • Keep the surfaces clean and fresh for a better environment. That way, we avoid pests.
  • Empty fridge/freezer and cabinets when moving.
  •  Let both the filter and frame soak in warm water with a bit of dishwashing liquid. Rinse thoroughly and let dry before replacing.

 

Bed linens are required!

For hygienic reasons, bedlinen must always be used: pillowcases, sheets, and duvet covers.

Recommendation: always wash your bedlinen at 60 degrees and every fourteen days – minimum.

If you suspect there are bedbugs, contact the Housing Office immediately: This is an email address. We will contact pest control for an inspection. Sanitising is free of charge!

Using detergents and sufficient cleaning products is necessary

  • Always use the correct cleaning product for what you intend to clean – bathroom cleaners for bathrooms.
  • You need to buy your own cleaning products, such as dishcloths, sponges, gloves, a dish brush, a toilet brush, and a bucket for cleaning the floor drain and the pipe under the wash basin.
  • NEVER use dishcloths and sponges from the kitchen to clean your room or bathroom/toilet.
  • Using the correct cleaners makes for easier and better cleaning; using the wrong cleaners is ineffective and can ruin surfaces.
  • Cleaning tip 1 – Don’t use excessive detergent or water when cleaning. A slightly damp cloth or floor mop will often get better results – too much water often results in streaks and stains and may still look dirty.
  • Cleaning tip 2 – Got a stain? Spray a little extra directly on the stain before cleaning.
     

If you use the oven and cooking elements often, please remember cleaning the filter above the cooktop is necessary.

Preferably periodically if you live more than two months. A final cleaning of the fan filter must also be done before leaving.

How to clean the filter.

• Remove the filter by simply pressing the button.
• Loosen the entire filter cassette.
• Carefully unscrew the soft filter stuck with a thin metal wire.
• Let both the filter and frame soak in warm water with a bit of dishwashing liquid.
• Rinse thoroughly and let dry before replacing.

Fan filter

 Shower/bathroom

  • Do not rinse food or clean dishes in the wash basin.
  • Remove hair from the drain and washbasin after each use.
  • Think of the environment. Limit your time in the shower.

Use products that are designed for bathrooms.

Door: Should be cleaned both outside and inside with a damp cloth.

The basin and tap + water trap: Clean both outside and in. Remember to use extra care when cleaning around the tap, and don’t leave water drops that dry into stains on the tap. Watch the video below -"How do I clean the water trap?"

Shower with soap holder + bar: Clean and scrub.

Bathroom cabinet with mirror: Clean and scrub Do not forget the top or leave water spots that, when dry, stain on the mirror.

Toilet: Clean and scrub outside and inside; clean behind and around the toilet on floor and walls.

Floor: Mop the floor often.

Floor drain: Wash and scrub. Always lift the cover, remove all hair and dirt, and scrub it as clean as possible. Watch  the video below - "How do I clean the floor drain?"

Wall/wall tiles: Wash and scrub.

Radiator: If there is a radiator it should be wiped and cleaned with a damp cloth,  dusting behind too.

Window: If there is a window, clean them.

Shower curtain: Not included. If you buy one and want to leave it for the next student, wash it in a washing machine at 40 degrees.

Toilet

Every day

  • Always use a toilet brush with cleaning detergent – clean inside and at the bottom of the toilet, preferably daily.

Once a week

  • Lift the toilet seat.
  • Spray WC cleaning fluid under the rim and squeeze evenly around the bowl.
  • For best results, brush above and below the waterline and flush.
  • Spray cleaning fluid evenly around the bowl – not too much, as it won’t be cleaner.
  • Clean under the rim of the toilet seat, in the central hole, and the edges of the bowl. Scrub clean any stained areas. Flush the toilet, and as the water flows into the bowl, rotate the brush in the water to clean it.
  • The toilet seat has a lift-off function. Lift off the seat to make it easier to clean between the toilet ring and the toilet itself, and rinse or wipe the seat hinges.
  • Use a cloth and clean the toilet’s whole outside, behind and the floor.

Safety information

Urgent matters and disturbances evenings, nights and weekends

During evenings, nights and weekends you can report urgent matters (lost key, fire alarm, no electricity etc) or serious cases of disturbance by calling: ÖBO’s on-call Security Officers (Trygghetsjour) telephone number +46 19-10 10 00.

  • Your report will be registered. The security company will then call you shortly afterwards, and together you will decide if a visit is necessary or if some other measures might be sufficient at this time.
  • Always carry this emergency number with you. You may have to show your tenancy agreement, so we recommend you save a screen shot/photo of the agreement on your mobile phone. 
  • Due to the risk of fire, keeping personal items (furniture, bicycles, etc.) in the hallway/corridors is strictly prohibited.
  • Emergency exits must never be blocked.
  • Smoke detectors are fitted throughout the building, meaning you must be careful with activities that can cause smoke.
  • Check regularly that the smoke detector is working.
  • Remember that the fire alarm can be activated by burning food, burning too many candles, burning bread in a toaster, etc.
  • Smoking can also activate the fire alarm – and is strictly forbidden indoors! Smoking in your room will, without exception, require very costly sanitation.
  • Electrical appliances such as kettles, coffee machines and hobs/burners must always be equipped/used with a timer.
  • Please do not leave candles burning or cooking unattended.
  • Smoking is strictly prohibited indoors and applies to hookahs and e-cigarettes, too.
  • Smoking in your flat will always, without exception, require very costly sanitation.
  • The tenant is aware of the smoking ban within the flat, in all common areas indoors and applies to balconies too.
  • Remember, always stand at least 15 metres from the building and entrances when smoking outdoors. Ventilation quickly draws in smoke for those living nearby when smoking too close – especially if windows are open. 

Other information

Shared access balcony, staircase and entrance.

  • Outside your flat on the shared access balcony, in/near the staircase, or on the ground floor/entrance, it is forbidden to leave/store any personal belongings.
  • This is a safety issue. In the event of an evacuation, these items can obstruct rescue personnel.
  • If you don’t remove these from the balcony, the landlord will remove them, and you will be charged to get them back.

Rubbish disposal and recycling:

Recycling bins are behind the FORSKAREN building.

All resident households are obliged to separate all rubbish for recycling.

Throw your sorted waste in the designated bins:

Paper packing, metal packing, clear and coloured glass bottles, newspapers, hard plastic packaging, and batteries.

  • All waste should be sorted at home to be recycled.
  • Never leave anything on the shared access balcony, corridors or in/near stairwells.
  • Always tie up plastic trash bags before throwing them in combustible waste bins.
  • Never leave any waste outside the bins – if uncertain, use the combustible waste bin.
  • Keep the recycling area clean and tidy.

Cooking at home

The oven and ceramic cooking elements are equipped with a timer as a safety precaution.

Stove 1

Stove 2 on the right

On the right:

  • First knob = left front cooking element
  • Second knob = left rear cooking element
  • Third knob = timer for the entire cooktop

Stove 3 on the left

On the left:

  • First knob, choose grill, top oven, bottom oven, or both.
  • Second knob = choose the number of degrees you want.
  • Third knob = right rear cooking element.
  • Fourth knob = right front cooking element.

 

  • To use the oven, grill, or cooking elements, turn the timer to the desired cooking time or turn it on full.
  • Place the casserole or frying pan on a cooking element first; turn on the timer and then the knob for the desired cooking plate – otherwise, it won’t work.
  • Use the razor scraper to clean the ceramic cooktop – found in the oven’s bottom drawer.

Laundry

 The laundry room (“TVÄTT”) is on the ground floor to the right of the entrance door.

Use your key tag to enter the room and to book a laundry time – booking is required!

There is a general description of how to use the electronic booking system.   

Always follow the instructions found in the laundry room.

Note:

  •  A booking is required to use the washing machines, even if they are physically open.
  • Use your key tag to start a machine on the display.
  • You need to enter the laundry on your booked time and start, 10-15 minutes after booked time if not started you lose your booked time and someone else can use the laundry.

Washing tips:

  • Please use environmentally friendly detergents and don’t use more than necessary.
  •  Landry nets must be used when washing bras.

After washing:

  • Wipe off the washing machines and floor. Clean away any residue detergent.
  • Remove fluff and sand from filters in dryers. Clean after yourself.
  • Always close the doors behind you after washing.

Parking if you have brought your own car.

At Studentgatan, there is a car park adjacent to the accommodation.

  • For information about which parking company payment is made to, what number the parking area/parking zone (zone code) has and what payment methods are offered, you must first read the sign for the car park where you intend to park.
  • The most convenient way to pay for parking is by downloading the app that applies to the car park where you intend to park and pay via the app once you have connected it to your bank card.
  • MobilPark (aimopark.se)
  • There may be other payment options, such as with bank card or Swish, at the parking meter.
  • Paying for a month is a cheaper option than paying daily.

If you have a bike.

  • Remember to always park your bike in the intended bike rack outside the building.
  • Make sure you have approved bicycle locks, one with which you lock the bicycle in the bicycle rack and one lock for the bicycle itself.
  • It is strictly forbidden to store/park the bike on the balcony.
  • There is no bike storage in Forskaren.

With thousands of lakes and plenty of rain and snow, tap water in Sweden is tasty and of high quality. Regardless of where you travel, the cold water from the tap is perfectly safe to drink.

Departure

Remember that not only must you leave the flat clean, but do NOT leave anything in the flat, like food, personal items, etc. Only dry detergent, toilet paper, and unused cleaning supplies are acceptable.

  • We expect you to clean the flat so that the next guest can move in without Housing or Cleaning Services having to clean.
  • When the tenant has moved out, the service team will perform a cleaning inspection. This is already included in the rent. If the apartment has been left uncleaned, a full or partial cleaning will be ordered from a cleaning company. The school is debited for this cleaning. We always contact the tenant first with pictures to enable you to decide whether you want to pay that invoice.
  • You may order cleaning and pay in advance; the fee will be added to the final rent.
  • If any replacement furniture or equipment is required in the apartment, this will be arranged by the Service Team. Replacements because of normal wear and tear are included in the rent. Replacements due to damage are debited to the school.

 

Before you move out of your flat, the following cleaning must be completed first.

Remember that not only must you leave the flat clean, but do NOT leave anything in the flat, like food, personal items, etc. Only dry detergent, toilet paper, and unused cleaning supplies are acceptable.

We expect you to clean the flat so that the next guest can move in without Housing or Cleaning Services having to clean.

Final cleaning of room(s)

Floors: Vacuum and mop.

Skirting boards: Dust, including behind all furniture.

Windowsill: Wipe and clean with a damp cloth.

Doors: Clean both outside and inside with a damp cloth.

Furniture: Dust and wipe/clean with a damp cloth.

Armchairs/chairs: Vacuum – all the textile surfaces.

Wardrobes: Dust and clean both outside and inside with a damp cloth.

Front door: Clean the inside with a damp cloth.

Bed/mattress: Vacuum – bed and mattress, over and underneath.

Lamp in ceiling: Dust and wipe.

All the contacts and light switches: Clean with a damp cloth.

When mopping floors, wring out the mop as much as possible. A mop with excessive water leaves water spots.
Curtains should be left open and the blinds up.

Final cleaning of the kitchenette

Fridge/freezer: Clean thoroughly, inside and outside. Don’t leave doors open or unplug the power cord.

Oven and cooktop: Clean both inside and out thoroughly, including the baking sheets. Use the razor scraper to clean the ceramic cooktop – found in the oven’s bottom drawer.

Fan filter: Above the cooktop, there’s an exhaust fan. It is important to remove the filter and let the filter and frame soak in warm water with a bit of detergent. Let the dry and replace.

Microwave: Clean thoroughly, inside and out.

Shelves, cabinets, drawers: Wipe and clean with a damp cloth inside and out.

All kitchen utensils: Wash and clean – don’t leave water spots.

Kitchen sink: Clean with a damp cloth and after with a dry cloth – don’t leave water spots.

Final cleaning of the bathroom

Use cleaners that are designed for bathrooms.

Door: Clean both inside and out with a damp cloth

The basin and faucet: Clean both inside and out. Remember to clean the extra care around the faucet – don’t leave water spots on the tap.

Bathroom cabinet: Wipe and clean with a damp cloth

Mirror: Clean with damp cloth after with a dry cloth

Toilet: Scrub and clean outside, inside, and behind around the toilet on the floor and wall. Rinse the toilet bowl from all detergent.

Floor: Vacuum and mop.

Floor drain: Wash and scrub. It is very important to remove the drain cover, remove all visible hair and debris, and scrub as clean as possible.

Shower curtain: We change the curtains when they are dirty.

Final cleaning of fan Filter

After using the oven and cooking elements a lot, please remember cleaning the filter above the cooktop is necessary.

  • Remove the filter by simply pressing the button.
  • Loosen the entire filter cassette.
  • Carefully unscrew the soft filter stuck with a thin metal wire.
  • Let both the filter and frame soak in warm water with a bit of dishwashing liquid.
  • Rinse thoroughly and let dry before replacing.

Here is a list of sustainable tips before leaving us.

  • If it is in good shape, sell it! Help the environment while earning some money. On Facebook, sell on Marketplace, or other popular selling groups, for example, a local Facebook networking group for Örebro University students called “Dom kallar oss studenter”.
  • Donate things to new student arrivals. Housing has a storage area for donating kitchen utensils and smaller items– NO textiles, furniture, etc. You are welcome to come by and leave it with us during our opening hours. Please make sure what you donate is clean and in good condition.
  • Donate unwanted items. Instead of throwing them away, donate them to local charities or thrift stores (Myrorna, Röda korset, Ge för livet, Erikshjälpen, Bergslagens bistånd, Emmaus)
  • Recycle! Leave recyclable materials at a recycling station before leaving your residence.
  • Use reusable bags. Pack your belongings or packages in reusable bags instead of plastic bags before leaving them at a recycling station.
  • Use public transportation. If possible, instead of renting a car or taking a taxi.
  • Need a ride – carpool! Ask a friend! Maybe you can go together.
  • When cleaning, use environmentally friendly products. It is better for your health and the planet.
  • Eat all your food before you go. Otherwise, leave food with a friend. Or clean out your fridge and have a potluck party with your neighbours  – Knytkalas in Swedish!

If you leave early/late or during the weekend, you can still hand in the keys by:

  2. Drop the keys in key deposit located outside on the right side of the entrance of Entréhuset.
  3. If you can't make it with these two alternatives, a friend can hand in the keys for you. Remember you are responsible for the keys until housing Office has received them.
