About Andreas Ohlin
Andreas Ohlin is a researcher at Örebro University and Senior Consultant at the Pediatric Department of Örebro University Hospital. Dr Ohlin defended his thesis on diagnostic procedures in newborns with suspected sepsisin 2010. His subsequent research has been focused on prevention of catheter associated infections, phototherapy of newborns with hyperbilirubinemia and pain in newborns where he is a part of the research collaboration called PEARL. Dr Ohlins work on prevention of neonatal sepsis was in 2013-2014 awarded with several prices such as The swedish Hygiene prize and Research Grand Prix.
Andreas is a lecturer at the Örebro University medical school and is a part of the theme reproduction and develeopment, he has supervised two Ph D students and numerous residents and medical student. Dr Ohlin is currently the acting secretary for Swedish Pediatric Associations workgroup for neonatal infections.
Dr Ohlin is very interested in healthcare in low-income settiings and during the 2020 winter he acted as a volunteer in Kigali, Rwanda, and he is on the board of Little Hills Sweden an organisation wich tries to improve the healthcare for children in Rwanda by knowledge sharing between Swedish and Rwandese pediatricians.
