About Elin Ekholm

Elin Ekholm is a licensed psychologist and holds a PhD in psychology. She is part of the Center for Medical and Health Psychology (CHAMP) at Örebro University. She got her masters degree in psychology from Umeå University in 2011 and has worked as a clinical psychologist in psychiatric care and in pain rehabilitation before earning her PhD with a dissertation on relational perspectives on vulvodynia.

Elin's research is in the domain of psychology, psychological treatments, pain and sexual health. Her main research interest is in psychological mechanisms affecting health, sexual function and sexual relationships of women suffering from superficial vulvovaginal pain and dyspareunia. She is also currently running a research project on fear of child birth. She teaches mainly at the Psychology program.
