About Karin Gustafsson

Karin is associate professor in sociology. She is an environmental sociologist with a special interest in studying knowledge production and relations between knowledge producers.

Karin’s research is primarily focusing on climate change and biodiversity issues in the fields of environmental sociology, sociology of knowledge, and science and technology studies.

Currently, Karin is studying science role in international environmental governance and international expert organizations' socialization of young scholars.

Karin is a guest editor in Sustainability for the Special Issue "Producing Knowledge and Expertise to Govern for a Sustainable Future". (Deadline for manuscript submissions 31 Oktober 2020.)

Karin teaches on both undergraduate- and graduate level. She teaches on the topics of academic writing, research design, qualitative methods, philosophy of science, sustainable development, and environmental sociology. In addition, Karin supervises both bachelor and master theses.
