The X-HiDE Concept

The X-HiDE idea

These inflammatory phenotype models are to be applied in precision medicine to improve diagnostics and treatment, and to facilitate drug development.

Center of Excellence (CoE)

  • comprehensive knowledge base: X-Hide develops state-of-the-art knowledge models that establish deeper understanding of inflammation and implements the knowledge models for clinical and commercial use. To this end, X-HiDE defines key inflammatory mechanisms within each phenotype, map the unique and overlapping features of the different phenotypes, and evaluate the representation of inflammatory phenotypes in clinical disease.
  • expertise spectrum: X-HiDE has already established systems biology at Örebro University and is working to harness the potential of the developments within artificial intelligence in close collaboration with the ARC center at Örebro University – to complement and further develop the expertise in bioinformatics, biomedicine, and clinical medicine.
  • research infrastructure: X-HiDE brings existing research environments and research groups together in a Collaborative Research and Education Infrastructure for Sustainability and Synergistic Growth. We actively work with strengthening knowledge transfer, building new alliances, and integrating business partners with specific competences and interests in bringing our joint discoveries to benefit the public.

X-HiDE contributes to the research frontier by defining general states of inflammation - independent of specific diseases, and where knowledge is represented in formal hypotheses which can harness computer reasoning.  X-HiDE strives towards a new understanding of inflammation; as a set of phenotypes with unique and shared properties that applies to many common diseases.
