Decision-making in social child welfare

Making decisions in social child welfare is a complex process that is done in complex situations that require social workers to relate to the organizational, legal and personal factors that affect daily work. However, the cognitive, psychological, emotional and physical processes that are not clear or observable to the environment during the decision-making process and at the time of the decision. A decision taken is an active act, preceded by a creation or doing. To what extent or in what way the decision maker is aware of what is going on during the decision-making process influences and influences the way a decision is made and how decision-making takes place. Making an assessment and making a decision is more than following a given standardized form in an investigation document. However, there is no knowledge about what it means to make decisions that can be vital to a child. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to explore partly what a decision is based on a phenomenological employee, partly what a decision-making means in practical terms derived from the social worker's perspective and experience. The project is based on narrative interviews with social workers. The interviews, commenced in May 2018, are scheduled to continue during the rest of 2018.
