Bullying as a social phenomenon and problem area

The ambition of the research group is to develop scientific knowledge concerning offensive acts in school (e.g. harassments, bullying) from a theoretical, methodological and evaluating perspective.  The aim of the research is offensive acts both between pupils and between staff and pupils, regardless if the acts occur occasionally or repeatedly, and whether the motives of the acts are of discriminatory nature or not. Even offensive acts mediated by different kinds of media like email, Facebook etc., is included in the research field. The research group also focuses on the consequences of the offensive acts concerning the victims’ emotional well-being and life orientation as well as the central question: why – under what circumstances – some individuals behave offensive towards others.
