The Eye and Visual Function Research Group
About this group
Group information
The Research Group for Eye and Visual Function investigates clinical aspects of eye diseases and visual performance across the lifespan. The group’s work includes retinal and corneal diseases, visual and refractive development in children, glaucoma, cataract, and diabetes-related eye complications, as well as visual function in cerebral visual impairment. The researchers also study how vision affects quality of life, everyday activities, and patients’ care experiences, as well as the impact of aging on treatment outcomes. In addition, the group conducts database studies to investigate the relationship between exposure and the risk of developing eye diseases. The overall aim is to improve diagnostics, treatment, and rehabilitation for individuals with impaired ocular and visual function.
