NEOLAiA Law Network launches anthology on constitutional traditions in the EU

In May 2025, the first NEOLAiA Law Network conference was held in Örebro. One year later, Karin Blad, Senior Lecturer in Law, holds the result in her hands: the anthology The Common Constitutional Traditions in the European Union: Their Content and Legal Value, published by Iustus.
The Common Constitutional Traditions in the European Union: Their Content and Legal Value is published by Iustus.

The book contains 17 contributions from researchers at the law faculties within NEOLAiA, examining common constitutional traditions in the EU. From a comparative perspective, the chapters explore how shared principles, such as proportionality and the rule of law, operate within and across national and supranational legal systems.
The volume has been edited by Karin Blad together with Magnus Kristoffersson, who leads the work package on research within the NEOLAiA alliance.
- It is incredibly rewarding to see this tangible result of what began with an email in 2023 and has now become a network spanning all of Europe! she says.
From Örebro University, in addition to Karin Blad and Magnus Kristoffersson, Eleonor Kristoffersson, Gustav Lindkvist, and Lukas Kindberg have also contributed texts.
This week, on 28–29 May, the University of Tours in France is hosting the second edition of the NEOLAiA Law Network conference. This year’s themes are “Interpretation of Law in a Changing World” and “Humanistic Legal Education – Serious Games in Legal Education.”
