Research subject

It is increasingly common that companies are divided into parts, either through the split of previously merged units or the divesture of acquired firms. This is referred to as corporate divorce. The project explores corporate divorce through literature studies to find differences and similarities to merger and acquisition consequences, dissolution of business relationships, divesture and closure of companies. The project targets (i) brand issues related to corporate divorce; (ii) changes in competences and competence needs; and (iii) changes in business relationships as the consequence of a corporate divorce.

The project adopts a case study methodology and publications target strategic reversal, dissolution, and mergers and acquisitions.
