Health economic evaluations of cervical cancer screening

This project evaluates the health economic effects of cervical cancer screening. Over time, screening has significantly reduced the incidence of cervical cancer. Despite the many opportunities offered by HPV testing, which is the primary screening method today, such as possibility of self-sampling, there are still some challenges regarding resource utilization.

The project analyses the health economic effects of:

- self-sampling and molecular triage in women aged 64–69 years.

- sending out self-sampling kits as an addition to reminder letters for long-term non attendees.

- increasing the coverage of HPV vaccination.

- consequences of increased number of clinically irrelevant follow ups.
