Quality assurance procedures and ranking


AACSB-logo-member-color-RGB.png Örebro University School of Business is accredited by AACSB  (The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business), which is the largest international accreditation authority for business schools.

AACSB Accreditation represents the highest standard of achievement for business schools worldwide. Less than 5 percent of the more than 16,000 schools worldwide granting business degrees have earned AACSB Accreditation.

The process leading to an AACSB accreditation is based on extensive systematic development work and a comprehensive external review of education, research and collaboration. The AACSB accreditation is a quality mark that enables the school to attract highly qualified students and faculty.  We also believe that this highly respected accreditation gives our students even better opportunities to get attractive jobs and makes us an even more interesting partner in cooperation.

Swedish Higher Education Authority

Logga UKÄ.jpgAll four subjects that Örebro University School of Business offers have been awarded "High Quality" in the most recent evaluations made by the Swedish Higher Education Authority in 2012-2014.

The Swedish Higher Education Authority's function is to monitor the quality of Swedish higher education. They analyse and follow up the development of the higher education institutions, and ensure that students' rights are respected. During 2016-2022, the Swedish Higher Education Authority will audit the doctoral programmes at Örebro University School of Business.


1_PRMELOGO.jpg The Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) is a United Nations-supported initiative founded  in 2007 as a platform to raise the profile of sustainability in business schools around the world, and to equip today's business students with the understanding and ability to deliver change tomorrow.

As a voluntary initiative with over 650 signatories worldwide, PRME has become the largest organised relationship between the United Nations and management-related higher education institutions.

PRME:s mission
The mission of PRME is to transform management education, research and thought leadership globally by providing the Principles for Responsible Management Education framework, developing learning communities and promoting awareness about the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals.

Times Higher Education

Times Higher Education Times Higher Education (THE) is one of the world's most valued university rankings. Universities are evaluated according to five criteria: teaching, research, citations, international outlook, and industry income.

For several consecutive years, Örebro University has come out strong in a number of Times Higher Education rankings. The primary reason is that research articles written by the University’s researchers to a great extent has been cited by other scholars, thus contributing to notable international recognition.

The Times Higher Education rankings are of great importance when it comes to attracting international students, researchers and teachers. They provide increased national and international recognition and are an important factor in forming strategic partnerships with universities abroad.

Eduniversal Eduniversal is the internationally recognised ranking and rating agency in Paris that annually ranks the top 1,000 of the world's 16,000 business schools, providing students with a tool for comparing business programmes worldwide.

The criteria for this ranking include, among others, the university’s course and programme offering, the level of internationalisation, recognised accreditations and the university’s position on other ranking lists.

Örebro University School of Business first entered the ranking in 2016 and maintained its position in 2017. On the 2018 ranking, the School improved its spot on the list, positioning the school well among the top nine Swedish higher education institutions. Since 2018 Örebro University School of Business has kept its position.
