Örebro University Scholarship

If you are admitted to one of our Master's programme and having Örebro University as first priority, you are eligible to apply to our Scholarship Programme.

The Örebro University Scholarship programme is aimed at top academic students from countries outside the European Union, European Economic Area and Switzerland, who are required to pay tuition fees for studies starting after June 2011. The scholarship covers full or partial tuition fees. It does not cover living expenses, which means that you will have to finance your own living expenses.

The number of awarded scholarships varies every year but commonly covers 4-5 students per academic year. Read more about study fees.

To be eligible to apply for a scholarship an applicant:

  • Must have applied and be admitted for a Master Programme through Universityadmissions.se and having Örebro University as first priority. 
  • Be a citizen from a country outside of EU/EEA/Switzerland and be required to pay tuition fees for studies.
  • Must fill out the application form that is distributed in conjunction with the notification of selection result from universityadmission.se
  • Cannot be a recipient of the Swedish Institute Scholarship
  • The application form for the Örebro University Scholarship Programme will be sent out to admitted students with Örebro University as first priority one day after the notification of selection results. 
  • Fill out the application form according to the information sent out by the university. Submit all the required information and documents before deadline.
  • Post deadline, all applications will be reviewed and decisions will be made end of April, 2024. Awarded students will be contacted via email at this time. The results will also be published on this website. If you are not awarded a scholarship you will not be notified.

To assess your application, you need to add the following mandatory supporting documents to the application:

  • Personal motivation letter (maximum 1 page)
  • CV (maximum 1 page)
  • A minimum of 2 letters of recommendation (maximum 1 page each)

All the documents need to be merged in to one single PDF file. Only documents in a PDF-format will be considered. Maximum file size is 4 Mb.

The selection criteria for Örebro University scholarship are:

  • Motivation and suitability for the current program
  • Academic excellence
  • Shown interest and strong commitment in studying at Örebro University

Swedish Institute Scholarships

The Swedish Institute (SI), a government agency, offers scholarships each year for international students. Only students with citizenship from certain selected countries are eligible for an SI scholarship.
