Every semester, Örebro University hosts exchange students from all around the world. We are very proud to say that we have a solid course offering in various subjects. We also guarantee housing on campus for all exchange students. And last but not least - you will get to enjoy a 3-4 week long orientation programme with both social and practical activities to get your exchange semester off to a great start! 

To apply for an exchange semester you need to be nominated by your home university. A nomination is possible if there is an agreement for student mobility between your home university and  Örebro University.

Before you can apply to come to Örebro University as an exchange student, you have to be nominated by your home university.

All partner universities will recieve an email with a link to the online nomination form when the nomination period opens. If you are a partner and have not yet received this link, please email us at This is an email address

The nomination deadline is March 31 for the autumn semester and September 30 for the spring semester.

When your home university has completed your nomination, you will recieve an email with information about our application process. You will apply through our online application portal which is only open during the application period. The link to the portal is published on this page during the application periods.

The online application includes personal information, course selection, housing and participation in our popular orientation programme. You will also need to add the following documents to your application:

  • An official transcript of records (in English). Please note that the transcript of records must state all courses, grades and credits obtained at the university level, both undergraduate/bachelor level and, if applicable for you, postgraduate/master level. The document can only be uploaded as a PDF file.
  • If you apply for courses at the School of Music, some courses require an entrance test (recordings). Please send this directly to the School of Music on  This is an email address.

The application period is March 15 to April 15 for the autumn semester and full academic year. For the spring semester the application period is September 15 to October 15.

After we have received and processed your application, you will receive a letter of acceptance. The letter of acceptance is sent once your course choices have been approved. You will receive this document via email approximately 4-6 weeks after the application deadline.
