Geometric Modelling and Simulation, 7.5 Credits

The course assumes basic skills in 3D-CAD modeling and has the geometry model as a common theme for in-depth knowledge and skills in more advanced modeling as well as for applications utilizing geometry models.
The following topics are covered:
- Advanced geometry modeling including surface modeling, continuity, and surface quality analysis
- Model-based definition (MBD)
- Basic simulation of function and dynamic properties based on geometry models
- Programming of numerically controlled machine tools
- Geometric Product Specification (GPS)
- Verification of geometry by use of Coordinate measuring machines (CMM)
